Twelve fights, a Halloween main event and several matchups with very little separating the fighters. Moicano gets the headline selection, while Durden is backed against The Model.
Halloween at the Meta APEX brings an intriguing lightweight main event between Renato Moicano and Tom Nolan, with experience meeting momentum in a fight the betting market can barely separate.
Moicano gets the nod by submission, although the Australian’s improving striking and five-fight winning streak make this a difficult assignment for the Brazilian veteran. Jacobe Smith is backed to continue his unbeaten run against Randy Brown, while Cody Durden is the biggest departure from The Model among the featured fights.
Across the card, The Model is particularly confident in Luana Santos and Lucia Szabová, but several other matchups are much harder to separate. Moicano, Osbourne, Lebosnoyani and Sezinando all carry model probabilities between 51% and 56%.
The deeper analysis of Moicano–Nolan and four other featured fights is in Fight Lab.

Where The Edge Splits From The Model
Ode’ Osbourne vs Cody Durden
THE MODEL: Osbourne, 52.2%
THE EDGE: Durden by Decision
The Model marginally prefers Osbourne, whose six-inch reach advantage and explosive striking make him dangerous whenever Durden closes the distance.
Durden gets the Final Pick because his wrestling offers a more repeatable route to winning rounds. He needs to get hold of Osbourne, force repeated grappling exchanges and maintain control rather than simply accumulate unsuccessful takedown attempts.
Osbourne could end the argument with one well-timed counter, particularly if Durden becomes predictable with his entries. At 52.2%, the Model is barely separating them anyway. Durden by decision is a narrow preference for sustained wrestling over the more dangerous individual striking moments.
Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani vs Farman Hasanov
THE MODEL: Lebosnoyani, 51.0%
THE EDGE: Hasanov by Decision
This is arguably the most interesting disagreement on the card.
The Model sees almost nothing between them, but the betting market strongly favours Lebosnoyani. The Final Pick goes the other way, backing Hasanov’s wrestling to frustrate the American and accumulate enough control to take the scorecards.
Hasanov’s UFC debut demonstrated an exceptionally active takedown game. The challenge is translating that success against Lebosnoyani, who offers a much more developed submission threat and considerable finishing danger during grappling exchanges.
There is an obvious risk in placing too much weight on one UFC performance. Hasanov has yet to establish the consistency of his wrestling against a broad range of opponents. Nevertheless, if he can repeatedly get the fight to the mat and deny Lebosnoyani opportunities to attack, the upset is credible.
Hasanov by decision. A genuine underdog selection, and one that requires him to execute a disciplined game plan against a dangerous opponent.
Same Winner, Different Method
Four other fights are worth flagging because the winner aligns while the expected finish does not.
METHOD SPLIT
Renato Moicano vs Tom Nolan
THE MODEL: Moicano, 56.0%
MODEL METHOD: KO/TKO
THE EDGE: Moicano by Submission
Moicano by Submission
Moicano gets the nod from both predictions, but the Final Pick trusts his submission game rather than the Model’s preferred knockout route.
Nolan’s size, improving patience and striking volume should make extended exchanges on the feet competitive. Moicano’s best opportunities are likely to emerge when he can turn those exchanges into clinch work, takedowns and back-taking opportunities.
Nolan has developed his own grappling, so getting him to the floor is not automatically a winning position. Moicano still has to work his way through the Australian’s offence. But eleven career submission victories provide a convincing reason to favour a finish on the ground.
METHOD SPLIT
Rodrigo Sezinando vs Theodor Berggren
THE MODEL: Sezinando, 53.8%
MODEL METHOD: KO/TKO
THE EDGE: Sezinando by Submission
Sezinando is only a narrow model favourite, and the Final Pick takes a more aggressive position on how he wins.
Both fighters have demonstrated considerable finishing ability, but Sezinando’s wrestling offers an alternative to trading strikes with the dangerous Swede. The submission selection depends on him using that grappling to create openings rather than allowing Berggren to dictate the exchanges at range.
Sezinando has already shown he can finish opponents on the ground, although his limited UFC experience makes this a relatively speculative method call. The winner selection is close; the submission is the bolder part of the prediction.
METHOD SPLIT
Nick Klein vs Joe Kropschot
THE MODEL: Kropschot, 59.8%
MODEL METHOD: KO/TKO
THE EDGE: Kropschot by Submission
Kropschot’s Contender Series performance against Jon Kunneman provides a good illustration of why submission is an attractive alternative.
He spent much of that fight working behind his length and straight punches before threatening a brutal armbar late in the contest. Kunneman somehow survived, but the sequence demonstrated how dangerous Kropschot can become when an opponent is forced to grapple.
Klein has his own finishing ability, making this an intriguing contest between two fighters who are comfortable looking for a stoppage. The Final Pick backs Kropschot to turn his physical advantages and submission experience into a finish rather than rely on his striking alone.
METHOD SPLIT
Lucia Szabová vs Tainara Lisboa
THE MODEL: Szabová, 80.2%
MODEL METHOD: Decision
THE EDGE: Szabová by Submission
The Model is strongly behind the unbeaten Slovakian, but favours a decision in her UFC debut.
The Final Pick expects a finish.
Szabová arrives with championships in two OKTAGON divisions and a versatile attacking game built around Muay Thai, judo and submissions. Four of her ten professional victories have come by submission, with the armbar a particularly effective weapon.
Lisboa has UFC experience and a dangerous ground game of her own, so Szabová should not expect an effortless debut. Nevertheless, the preference is for the newcomer to establish enough control to create a submission opportunity rather than simply outpoint her over three rounds.
The Final Read
Moicano by submission is the headline selection, but the lightweight main event is far from comfortable. Nolan’s improving striking and physical advantages could make life difficult for the Brazilian, particularly if Moicano struggles to establish his grappling.
Smith is backed to continue his run of UFC finishes against Brown, while Durden is preferred to wrestle his way past Osbourne in one of the closest matchups on the card.
Luana Santos remains the strongest Model selection at 86.7%, although the Final Pick expects her to win on the scorecards. Hasanov provides the other winner disagreement, with his wrestling backed to produce an upset against Lebosnoyani.
Reese and Lee are selected to find knockouts, while Marshall and Rodriguez get decision calls. Sezinando, Kropschot and Szabová complete the card with submission selections, each taking a different finishing route from The Model.
The two winner disagreements and four method differences give us plenty to revisit after the event. Several of these matchups are genuinely difficult to call, particularly those involving fighters with limited UFC experience.
